Rochelle Edwards is a UX research manager at YouTube. She has been at Google/YouTube for 8 years, managing YouTube’s Horizontal Insights team for half of that. She grew the team from the ground up to include researchers located internationally who each bring a unique skill set or domain expertise to the team. Being horizontal, Rochelle’s team pushes YouTube’s Product Excellence (PE) initiative, and works to connect research and insights for targeted user groups across multiple product teams. Rochelle received a Ph.D. in Psychology (Human Factors / Human-Computer Interaction) from Rice University. During that time, she obtained some specialization in Industrial/Organizational Psychology (around work-life balance, burnout reduction, and flow) and folds these learnings into her work.
