Biography
Pratima Saravanan, PhD is a postdoctoral fellow at the Center for Outcomes Research at the Houston Methodist Hospital. She earned her PhD in Industrial Engineering with a focus on Human Factors, MS in Industrial Engineering, and MS in Bioengineering at The Pennsylvania State University. Dr. Saravanan’s doctoral dissertation focused on developing an evidence-based clinical decision support system for lower-limb prosthetic prescription by capturing expert decision-making. Her primary research interests involve cognitive sciences, human factors in healthcare, and clinical decision-making. Currently, at Houston Methodist, Dr. Saravanan is working on developing training tools for nursing students for early sepsis detection, understanding the impact of COVID-19 pandemic on the stress and workload of ICU nurses, and investigating provider burnout.
