Biography
Dr. Christopher A. Miller has a degree in Cognition and Communication from the Psychology Department of the University of Chicago. He spent 12 years at Honeywell Laboratory, becoming the first Fellow in Human Factors. He left Honeywell more than 20 years ago to become the Chief Scientist at Smart Information Flow Technologies (SIFT), a small company based in Minneapolis and focusing on consulting research at the intersection of Human Factors and Artificial Intelligence. Throughout his career, his work has focused on human-automation interaction and technology-mediated human-human interaction.
At SIFT, he has won and led more than 25 projects in human-automation interaction, pioneering the development of Playbook forms of supervisory control and computational modeling of human-machine and human-human etiquette.
