Hanna Barton

Biography
Hanna (they/them) is a PhD Candidate in the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering at the University of Wisconsin - Madison. Using a human factors and macroergonomic approach, they collaborate with patients and clinical partners to re-design systems to support real-life care work, such as family management of chronic disease and older adults' emergency department transitions. Hanna's passion for creating systems of care permeates their life--among other things, they are trained as a doula, facilitate and consult on designing inclusive environments, coach high school-aged student-athletes, and serve as a Co-Chair for the Human Factors and Ergonomics Society's LGBTQ+ Affinity Group.
