Shiyan Yang is a Senior Research Scientist at Seeing Machines, a leading company developing driver monitoring technologies to promote road safety. Over the past 5 years, he has led research projects to better understand driver behavior in safety-critical scenarios. The research insights he is generating are shaping Seeing Machines’ driver monitoring technology - which is used in vehicles currently on the road. His research is also influencing new car assessment programs, as regulatory bodies and ratings agencies like Euro NCAP begin to incorporate safety ratings for driver monitoring systems. He has published 10+ journal and conference papers based on his research in this space. He views publications as a great way to provide visibility of state-of-art industry R&D to business partners, investors, academic peers, and regulatory bodies.
