Rachel graduated from North Carolina State University (NCSU) in 2016 with a B.S. in Chemical Engineering and a B.A. in International Studies. During her undergraduate career, her research focused on nanomaterials, but time spent as an automation engineer uncovered a passion for understanding humans' role in autonomous systems. She is currently pursuing a Ph. D. in Human Factors at NCSU with a particular interest in safety in automation, human-robot collaboration, and attention during complex tasks.
