Biography
Paul Green is a research professor at the University of Michigan Transportation Research Institute (UMTRI) where he leads the Human Factors Group. He is also an Adjunct Professor/Research Professor in the Department of Industrial and Operations Engineer where he teaches courses on Automotive Human Factors, Human-Computer Interaction, and Laboratory Methods. He is also the leader of the Human Factors Engineering Short Course, the flagship continuing education course in the profession, now in its 63rd year. He has more than 300 publications to his credit concerning driver workload, driver distraction, driver interfaces, and other topics. He is also the author or co-author of several human factors design standards. He has been very active in the Human Factors and Ergonomics Society, serving as a past-President, and currently, as a member of the Executive Council for more than a decade.
