Biography
Barry Vaughan, Ph.D. is a Senior Research Psychologist at the US Army Combat Capabilities Development Command Analysis Center (DAC) and serves as the DAC Human Protection Point of Contact. He is charged with implementing human protections regulations and policies in an institution previously without such oversight. He has over 16 years of experience in human research protection as an appointed Exemption Determination Official, Institutional Review Board (IRB) members, and IRB Chair. His research background is in experimental cognitive psychology and visual processing as applied to military settings, and he has worked on projects ranging from search in high dynamic range environments to the detection of improvised explosive devices. Dr. Vaughan received his doctorate from the Johns Hopkins University in 1998.
