Biography
Phillip L. Ackerman is currently Professor of Psychology at the Georgia Institute of Technology, Atlanta, Georgia, USA. Prior to joining the faculty at Georgia Tech in 1997, he was on the faculty at the University of Minnesota from 1984 to 1997. He received his Ph.D. from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign. He is a Fellow of the Human Factors & Ergonomics Society, American Psychological Association, the American Educational Research Association, the Psychonomic Society, and the Association for Psychological Science. He has conducted basic and applied research on individual differences, psychological testing, human abilities, personality, interests and cognitive fatigue. His recent work includes studies of new measures for adult intellect and adult intellectual development. He is a former Associate Editor of Human Factors and a former Editor of the Journal of Experimental Psychology: Applied.
