Ms. Brandt is a NASA research psychologist with the Human-Automation Teaming Lab at NASA Ames Research Center. She currently serves as a subproject project manager of the Safety Demonstrator Series for NASA’s System-Wide Safety Project where a system-wide framework that supports increasingly autonomous, complex airspace operations is being developed and demonstrated. A recent effort includes conducting human-in-the-loop research for NASA’s Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) Integration into the National AirSpace (NAS) project. This research helped define Detect and Avoid display, alerting and guidance minimum operational performance standards published by RTCA SC-228. She has diverse research experience spanning aviation and human spaceflight.
