Biography
Shawna J. Perry MD,FACEP is Associate Professor of Emergency Medicine at University of Florida Health Science Center in Jacksonville, FL and an Honorary Researcher at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, College of Engineering, Center for Quality & Productivity Improvement. For 12 years, she was Director of Clinical Operations, Chief of Service and Associate Chair of Emergency Medicine at University of Florida Health Sciences Center in Jacksonville, FL where she provided leadership and management for departmental, hospital and university-based initiatives ranging from large-scale coordination of clinical work to the implementation of new information technology (IT) systems into the clinical setting. Dr. Perry’s primary research interest are patient safety, from a human factor/ergonomics, the nature of system failures, transitions in care, the impact of IT upon clinical care, and organizational behavior. She is a practicing emergency physician in academic, community and rural settings.
